PiktoChart

Back to Ed Tech Tools
Piktochart is an online tool to create infographics. An infographic is a visual display of information through the use of graphics, colour, and symbols. Infographics allow the viewer to “experience” the information on a variety of levels.
Users can use the featured themes or begin with a blank canvas. Information can be displayed visually with the vast selection of graphics. The infographic can be shared via Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Google+.

Piktochart is free, but does offer a Pro Version as well as Education Packages. The subscription offers additional themes and the removal of Piktochart branding.
Educational uses:
  • Serve as a discussion starter about a concept or topic
  • Justify students’ arguments
  • Pinpoint misconceptions.
  • Interpret information visually
  • Demonstrate understanding of a concept in a creative, visual, interactive manner
  • Distil large amount of data and find ways to display it visually

Getting Started

  1. Create a free Piktochart account.
  2. Search the infographics sites listed in the Piktochart Gallery. Find an infographic worth sharing.
  3. Review this infographic which defines the seven-step process for creating an infographic.
  4. Develop your own infographic. Alternatively, have your students or colleagues create an infographic using Piktochart.
