Padlet

Back to Ed Tech Tools
Padlet is a free online bulletin board that you can use to display information on any topic. Users can add images, links, video, and document files. Walls can be private, open to the public, or moderated by the user – meaning that the user approves all contributions before becoming public.

Padlet is a tool that provides opportunities for questioning, collecting and evaluating data, communicating solutions all through collaboration. On the online graffiti wall, teachers and students can have discussions, share web links, post notices, collect feedback, or watch and share videos. Padlet accounts are free and users can make limitless walls. Students do not have to create an account to post on teacher’s walls.

Padlet walls can be used as a place to collect information on various topics.
Educational uses:
  • Post thought-provoking question and brainstorm ideas from a class
  • Debate topics through questions, comments, and expression of viewpoints
  • Collaborate to share ideas, resources, and thinking
  • Gauge understanding on a topic
  • Use as a formative assessment tool to check for student understanding
  • Pose questions about topics or assignments
  • Showcase student work

Getting Started

  1. Create a free Padlet account.
  2. Create your own wall by giving it a title, description and choosing a background.
  3. Add a few sticky notes.
  4. Showcase Padlet in the classroom or with colleagues.
